Pelham has become a destination city with thousands visiting each year. It's central location in the state offers convenience that's hard to beat. Local attractions include Verizon Music Center (formerly Oak Mountain Amphitheater), Pelham Racquet Club, Pelham Civic Complex and Oak Mountain State Park. Pelham's public golf course, Ballantrae Golf Club, is one of the most beautiful pieces of property in Alabama. The Ballantrae Golf Club opened to the public in June 2004.
The golden age of railroading and the rich heritage of the people who built them come together at the Heart of Dixie, the official railroad museum for the state of Alabama. Visitors can see railroad memorabilia, take a ride on a historic train, or ride Alabama's only operating narrow-gauge steam locomotive! The Heart of Dixie Railroad is located just south of Pelham off I-65.

Jim a N Nicka s Bar-BQ Alabaster is sponsoring an open house Sunday, June 28 from noon-3 p.m. for the House for a Cure fund-raiser. U.S. soldier Branch Dildine and his wife are raffling their three-bedroom, two-bathroom house at 208 Cove Place in Pelham to benefit the Mississippi Chapter Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
